Thanks for agreeing to speak at KTLC2022 hybrid!
Here’s a bunch of information we’d like you to know before the conference. I’ll try to keep it brief!
First of all, I’d like to run a survey among you just to touch base on online/onsite participation, lunches, etc. The survey is at the end, so please take a moment to read the info below first 😊

Info for onsite participants:
- The conference takes place on 29 September – 1 October at Novotel Airport Warsaw and has an online part as well. The hotel is just a few bus stops from the airport, or 5-10 minutes by taxi. From the Central Railway Station, it’s around 15-20 minutes by bus, or a similar time by taxi. There is Uber and Bolt in Warsaw, if you prefer these.
- The speakers receive a ticket to the whole conference with lunches. This includes: admission to all onsite and online presentations and workshops; lunches and coffee breaks on each day; access to the conference app powered by Whova (which includes online presentations, recordings of online and onsite presentations, discussion threads and networking opportunities), a gift package including a printed Speakers’ Certificate, as well as conference materials provided by our sponsors and partners.
- During the conference, there will be several onsite networking meetings:
- On 29 September – LocLunch, which for you is included in the ticket. LocLunchers who are not participating in the conference are ordering the lunch a la carte and pay for themselves.
- On 30 September – a Gala Dinner, ticketed (drinks, appetizers, main courses).
- On 1 October – a Cocktail Party (ticketed: drinks, appetizers, main courses) + LocDrinks (pay-what-you-drink 😊) – you can choose the mode of participating, because we know that some attendees will want to go back home on that day and
As a principle, Speakers are invited to all these networking opportunities as part of their complimentary tickets. However, if you would like to support our efforts, you’re more than welcome to purchase a ticket to the Gala Dinner or Cocktail Party! It will enable us to make it even more fun.
- After the conference ends, participants will rate the talks they participated in. Based on their responses, we will select best presentations in the categories: Audience Engagement, Presentation Delivery, Content. The best presentations will be awarded financial prizes.
- Unless agreed otherwise via e-mail, we do not cover: transport, hotel costs, remuneration for the speech and other costs.
- To book a room at special conference rates, please e-mail Novotel Airport Warsaw at: h0527-re@accor.com and provide the code: TLC2022. The rates are PLN 270 for a single room, PLN 310 for a double room per night with breakfast.
- For downloading the Whova app, you’ll receive a link prior to the conference with instructions how to log in and enjoy the event online!
- Some speeches will be interpreted live by students of Applied Linguistics – if you would like to listen in and give students feedback on their work (and thus help them hone their skills!), make sure to bring headphones with you! The interpreting will be available via Interprefy or Zoom, depending on the day.
For online participants:
- The conference takes place on 29 September – 1 October at Novotel Airport Warsaw and online.
- Online speakers receive a complimentary online ticket to the whole conference. This includes: admission to all online presentations and workshops, including ones streamed live from Warsaw; access to the conference app powered by Whova (which includes online presentations, recordings of online and onsite presentations, discussion threads and networking opportunities), a virtual Speakers’ Certificate, as well as virtual conference materials provided by our sponsors and partners.
- Online networking will be held in the Whova app, including discussion threads, round tables and other opportunities that will also be available to onsite participants, so that there are touchpoints and you aren’t missing anything.
- Unless agreed otherwise via e-mail, we do not cover other costs of participating in the conference.
- For downloading the Whova app, you’ll receive a link prior to the conference with instructions how to log in and enjoy the event online!
- I will reach out to you concerning technical check-up before the conference to make sure everything goes smoothly during the event.
